You can create your own exciting summer reading program with these themed summer reading incentive charts! These are awesome motivators for homeschools, tutors, and special education summer programs.
This file includes a Teacher Instruction Page for how to use the incentive charts, four (4) full-color themed incentive posters, and four (4) support pages with book ideas and reward suggestions!
Download the incentive charts file. Determine your child’s independent and instructional reading levels. Set a goal for each month. Select the same incentive chart or pick a different chart for each month. Keep a list of the books your child reads on the back of the incentive chart. Mark the spots as books are completed. Help your child self-evaluate whether the monthly goal was reached.
Rewards are mostly fun, summer activities rather than expensive, tangible toys. Have fun with a big outing or a home-based family activity! Celebrate reading!

Hi, my name is Sue Hegg! My many (over 30!) years of teaching experience has been so diverse – from multi-age classrooms to tutoring in private practice to homeschooling! Most of my career has been spent teaching reading, writing, math, and study skills to K-12 students with special needs, including learning disabilities, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, auditory processing deficits, FASD, selective mutism, emotionally fragile/anxious, and bipolar. I also provide technology-based cognitive training to kids and adults. I would love to share with you the materials I have developed for my own unique learners!
