If your older student with dyslexia still needs practice with sentence writing, you NEED this set of Sentence Writing Prompts! This Sentence Writing Set 1 has 25 worksheet pages that have 3 picture and single word prompts for sentence writing.
The topics are items and activities that most kids will be familiar with. The Teacher Instruction page has ideas for how to use the prompt pages for sentence writing practice AND for how to evaluate your child’s writing. Each page has simple generic directions, so you can differentiate the criteria to your expectations for your student. A blank template is also included so you can add your own pictures or words for your specific student. 27 pages.
This Sentence Writing Prompts – Set 1 has 3 sentence prompts per worksheet. Many kids with language-based difficulties require many opportunities to write complete sentences. If your student is able to easily write 3 sentences independently in one sitting, you can decide to use the Sentence Writing Set 2 that has 4 sentence prompts per worksheet.
If you choose to use the writing prompts two times per week, this set will last 13 weeks (one semester), and if you choose to do writing three times a week, the prompts will last 8 weeks (one quarter).
Eventually, we will have writing prompts for more advanced sentences and a combining set that will lead students into writing compound and complex sentences. If you want to know when we add these products, sign up for our weekly email newsletter.
Hi, my name is Sue Hegg! My many years of teaching experience has been so diverse – from multi-age classrooms to tutoring in private practice to homeschooling! Most of my career has been spent teaching reading, writing, math, and study skills to K-12 students with special needs, including learning disabilities, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, auditory processing deficits, FASD, selective mutism, emotionally fragile/anxious, and bipolar. I also provide technology-based cognitive training to kids and adults. I would love to share with you the materials I have developed for my own unique learners!
On my website, I also have a blog covering a variety of topics, focusing on homeschooling and special education. I know how hard it can be to find the resources you need, which if why I have pulled together all the games and homeschool resources that I used with my kids and with my students over the past 30 years!
