Kevin Henkes is one of my favorite children’s authors. I used his books often when I worked as a school librarian, and also love sharing his books in lessons for my daughter. “Owen” is a sweet, relatable story and great for teaching story parts and retelling.
This lesson is designed to help your child practice the skill of retelling a story while reading the book “Owen” by Kevin Henkes. The activities not only practice retelling but also aid in comprehension through text connections.
