Description

Are you working with your students on the -cle syllable? Escape Room is a folder game where students move around an abandoned Victorian house to secretly match or collect room pictures to race to the key to escape. This game gives plenty of practice with dividing syllables and decoding two syllable words with the -cle syllable ending. 37 pages total!

This file includes a Teacher Instruction Page. The full-color gameboard and cover with directions mounts to a letter-sized file folder. Movers, Room Cards, and small Word/Room Cards are including. All you need is a regular 6-sided die.

If you laminate the word cards, they can also be used as flashcards or taskbox activities. The file also contains 10 pages of Bubble Word Worksheets, where students can color the words in creative ways or build 3-D words with play dough. Two Cut and Paste worksheets are provided to help students analyze other syllables within -cle syllable words. Finally, six pages of Spelling Worksheets are provided for students to copy, use short-term memory, or practice -cle words with many multisensory activities.

If you use Science of Reading strategies or teach Orton-Gillingham morphology, you will love our games! Use our games and curriculum for your core program or as a supplement to any multisensory, systematic phonics program.

Included in the set:
– Teacher Instructions
– Full-color Folder Game with Directions and Pieces
– 4 Pages of Word Cards for Game or Flashcards
– 10 Bubble Word Pages
– 2 Cut and Paste Pages
– 6 pages of Spelling Worksheets

Hi, my name is Sue Hegg! My many (over 30!) years of teaching experience has been so diverse – from multi-age classrooms to tutoring in private practice to homeschooling! Most of my career has been spent teaching reading, writing, math, and study skills to K-12 students with special needs, including learning disabilities, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, auditory processing deficits, FASD, selective mutism, emotionally fragile/anxious, and bipolar. I also provide technology-based cognitive training to kids and adults. I would love to share with you the materials I have developed for my own unique learners!

On my website, I also have a blog covering a variety of topics, focusing on homeschooling and special education. I know how hard it can be to find the resources you need, which if why I have pulled together all the games and homeschool resources that I used with my kids and with my students over the past 30 years!
