Valentine’s Day is so much more than a holiday made up by greeting card companies! It has a rich history rooted in the stories of men named Valentino, who risked their lives for their love of God, their love of others, and to preserve the love of marriage. I believe it is important for us to learn the history of the Christian church in the years following the lives of Christ’s apostles and remember the courage of our ancient brothers and sisters. While I do not believe in praying to the saints of the Catholic church, I do think it is beneficial to learn about their lives, deaths, and impact on Christianity.
